We practice writing poetry inspired by a featured image... or sometimes led by a special guest poet.

Writing to a visual prompt is called ekphrastic poetry. John Keats’s “Ode on a Grecian Urn” is a classic example. The term comes from the Greek word ekphrasis, meaning "description," and the tradition dates back to ancient Greece, where it originally referred to the skill of describing anything with great detail, not just art.
Unleash your creativity and explore the dynamic relationship between visual art and written poetry in this biweekly workshop.
