THIS SESSION:
Round Robin...
Bring a few of your favorite poems and take the spotlight as we go round robin to share or own work or that of a few of your select poets.
Unleash your creativity and explore the dynamic relationship between written poetry and spoken word in our biweekly Poetry & Performance workshop.
Workshop Details:
- When: Every other Monday morning
- Duration: 2 hours
- Where: [Zoom link provided upon registration]
About the Workshop:
This workshop is designed to bridge the gap between the poetic words on the page and the art of poetry performed aloud. Each session is a vibrant exploration of poetic expression, featuring a variety of engaging activities:
- Featured Poet Readings: Experience the work of a guest poet, followed by a rich discussion that dives into their themes, techniques, and inspirations.
- Open Mic Sessions: Share your own poetry or a piece that resonates with you in a supportive environment, allowing for connection and inspiration among fellow writers.
- Ekphrastic Poetry Exploration: Engage in the unique interplay of art and poetry. Participants will be presented with a visual artwork that serves as a muse. After a 10-minute silent meditation, you’ll have 25 minutes to write a poem inspired by the image, capturing its essence, emotions, and narrative.
Why Join?
- Enhance Your Craft: Whether you’re a seasoned poet or just starting out, this workshop provides a nurturing space to hone your skills and experiment with new forms of expression.
