Monday Plant Meditation: Lavender!
• What we'll do Start your week on the perfect note, with an hour of intensive focus on a single plant. Every Monday morning, from 9-10 am (with a few exceptions noted in the dates below)! We will begin with a short meditation, sipping tea and sitting in silence with the plant, letting it tell us what it wants to. Only then will we begin to unpack what we know about this plant: botany, history, chemistry, tradition, energetics, applications, we'll look at it all, we will taste and explore the common forms of the plant, and learn the best way: by direct experience. You'll go home with an ounce of dried, certified organic, sustainably grown or ethically wildcrafted tea, or 1/2 ounce tincture/glycerite, to continue your explorations at home, along with a detailed monograph and a journal page for each plant, so that you can keep notes. A different plant each week (with an occasional week off for a holiday), 48 plants in the year--by the end of 2018, you will have amassed a significant amount of deep knowledge about these powerful and delightful plant allies. Come to a single class, come to a few chosen, come to all of them--it's completely up to you! Each class is $10, Buy a ten class card (good only for this class series) for $80. What we're about

Public Group

Meet other people interested in herbs & natural healing, while you learn about the role of plants in health care.

Classes and gatherings are held at various venues. The main venue is Green Wisdom School of Herbal Studies in Long Beach, a school and apothecary supply shop open to the public during the week.
Classes are also held at The Green Man in North Hollywood, at The Growing Experience Urban Farm, and elsewhere.

We hold events that focus on bio-regional plants, medicine-making, and empowering people to take control of their own health. You will learn about botany, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, math, language, history and more, in your journey, and it will be fun and exciting and silly and adventurous.

Classes range in structure and fees from simple free gatherings and gardening work days, to stand along classes generally in the $20-$50 range, to short range series of classes on a specific subject (Women's Health, Apothecary, Anatomy, and the like, subjects too complex for a single class). There is also a first- and second-year apprenticeship offered (filled for 2018, sorry!). For more information on the apprenticeship, and on Julie, and other offerings such as consultations and personalized classes, visit the website at www.GreenWisdomHerbalStudies.com, come in to the school during the week, M, T, Th, F from 9-4, or call us at 562-591-8700. Hope to see you in class soon!
