Conor is a Senior Lecturer (Software Engineering) in the Department of Computing and Mathematics at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) with research interests in distributed artificial intelligence, sensor networks, and multi-agent systems. Prior to joining MMU, I was a Research Scientist and Occasional Lecturer at University College Dublin (UCD). As a postdoctoral researcher, I held two prestigious Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering, and Technology (IRCSET) fellowships, namely the INSPIRE Marie Curie International Mobility Fellowship and the Government of Ireland Embark Fellowship. During the mobility fellowship, I was hosted by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford for an outgoing phase of two years and by the School of Computer Science at UCD for a return phase of one year. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, a first class B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Computer and Software Engineering, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and I’m a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Dr. Michael K. Bane is a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), and was an author of the report to UKRI regarding recommendations for ensuring their digital research infrastructure (DRI) obtains net zero, see Juckes, Bane et al (2023). Michael has written from scratch an undergraduate degree module on Green Software Engineering, during which he learned much about the gap between theory and practical examples. As a result, Michael set up the community GSE portal ([https://GreenCompute.UK](https://GreenCompute.uk)) to aid others wishing to practice and teach green software engineering. Recently, Michael was awarded a STFC CoSeC Fellowship for sustainable computing, and runs MMU’s Greener Compute Club.
