Picnic & Food Systems game at Margaret Island

This month, there will be a special occation with the cooperation, we’ll be hosting a Picnic and play a game together with the focus on biodiversity and food systems.
As usual, this is an open, English-language discussion, but this time is in the heart of the city, Margit Island. Newcomers, locals, and visitors are all welcome.
Did you know that 30-40% of all food produced goes to waste? How can we fix this? Join us for an evening of problem-solving, discussion, and fun as we learn more about sustainable food systems in the Reboot Food game. The game is an ‘escape room’-style board game, where each page contains a new illustrated environment filled with puzzles. Using teamwork and critical thinking, you will piece together the solutions to escape our current food system and create a more sustainable future.
It is a shared picnic. Please bring something to eat and/or to share. Even a small snack helps create the community spirit.
We will get to know each other, chat about sustainability, and share positive sustainability news from around the world.
You can bring:
- vegetarian / mostly plant-based food
- reusable containers
- your own cup, cutlery, plate, or napkin
- something to sit on
- water or something to drink
- simple picnic food is perfect: fruit, nuts, dips, salads, bread, homemade snacks, etc.

What to expect:
- 17:30 - 17:45: Arrival, mingling and chatting with each other.
- 17:45 - 18:00: Greetings and Introduction of our game facilitators. Thor Morante and Bethany Thomas.
- 18:00 - 18:10: Explaining the game
- 18:10 - 19:00: Conserving Biodiversity- Rebooting the Food Systems
- 19:00 - 20:30: Mingling, chatting and eating
Have thought-provoking conversations and exchange ideas with other community members on the topic of sustainability.
This event's game facilitators are Thor Morante, Lead Project Coordinator and Communication Expert, and Bethany Thomas, Project and Communications intern at CEEweb for Biodiversity. focusing on conserving biodiversity across Central and Eastern Europe.
