Thinking differently about digital sustainability (was Dale Vince): hybrid event

Details
IMPORTANT CHANGE TO EVENT
Unfortunately our planned speaker Dale Vince has had to cancel at short notice. We're still going ahead with an event on this date and Hannah Smith, one of our co-organisers, will be giving a talk she recently delivered at UX London instead of Dale. Her talk was very well received at UX London and is called "Thinking differently about digital sustainability".
How you choose to join in is up to you! Join us either in-person or online!
-----------------------------------------------------------
- In person at the Engine Shed, please RSVP ON EVENTBRITE, not here on meetup. We're using Eventbrite this one time to manage our in-person capacity. Eventbrite allows you to RSVP for free and join us for pizza, drinks and a spot of mingling before the event. Arrive from 6pm for a 6.30pm start. If you decide you can no longer make it, please 'cancel' your RSVP on Eventbrite to free up the ticket for someone else.
- Or attend online by RSVPing here on meetup, and enjoy a welcoming and authentic Green Tech South West experience using CrowdCast. Join online from 6.20pm for a 6.30pm start. We'll email the joining link ahead of the event and more details about what to expect.
Both sessions close at 8pm. For those in person we'll move to a nearby pub for more networking.

Thinking differently about digital sustainabilty
Digital is often regarded as green or sustainable by default. But itโs not. The truth is that whilst digital is usually much less impactful than offering a real-life alternative, it is not without significant downsides.
In this talk, we'll discuss how digital isn't sustainable and what mindset shifts we need to get to a sustainable, fossil-free tech industry.
