Haystacks Solar Garden

Haystacks is Australia’s first large scale Solar Garden, enabling everyone to participate in the clean energy revolution regardless of whether they have access to a sunny rooftop - pioneering a new way for locked out energy users to access renewable energy. Haystacks solar garden is being constructed on a farm in the Riverina of NSW and invites anyone across the state to become members of the Cooperative which will own the solar farm and provide on bill credits to members via a partner retailer.

Solar Gardens are a popular model overseas, this will be the first large-scale Solar Garden in Australia allowing 333 previously locked out energy users to join in the clean energy revolution. For everyone who wants solar on their roof but can't because they're a renter, live in an apartment or don't have an appropriate sunny roof - this project provides a solution. Rising energy costs, the need to decarbonise our economy and a desire to allow more people to participate in the renewables revolution are the driving factors for creating the Haystacks Solar Garden.
