This trailhead can be difficult to find, but it is located on Old Seguin Road between Binz Engleman (right across from the hospital garage) and I-35. The road is a bit rough.
This is my absolute favorite summer-time trail for bike ride. It is the most shaded trail in the entire greenway system.
We will start from the Jack White trailhead. Depending on interest, we can take a slight detour up to the Red Berry estate and event center. We stop at MLK park and then continue to South Side Lions Park. If we didn't deviate to the Red Berry estate, the distance at this point is 8 miles.
From this point the ride varies, and if there are enough riders, we might split up.
We usually do a lap of the lake at South Side Lions Park (add 1 mile).
We usually do a difficult hill climb (for me at least) up to the Hiawatha Street lookout scenic observation point.
We sometimes take the newer trail further south to various trailheads which add maybe 6 miles round trip.
So this ride is a minimum of 16 miles, and can be up to 26 miles with an aggressive hill climb (aggressive for old folks... like me... I'm 70yo).
