From Seed to Bloom: A New Chapter for Our Community

Dear Journeying Souls,

Nearly a decade ago, a kindred spirit showed up at my little farm and asked to attend my weekly meditation group. She believed in it so deeply that she created this Meetup to help it grow—and grow it did.

We created a vibrant community of wonderful, amazing, loving people who came every week to meditate at the farm... and watched the old house get torn down, a new house built slowly over several years.

Sometimes we met outside by the firepit, and later the stump circle, and sometimes we would walk through the woods in a silent meditation. We even ventured to the stone monolith circle at the park during the height of construction.

Many of the attendees would take turns leading the weekly meditation and some people started volunteering to take turns teaching free yoga classes before the meditations. We held drum circles, we had potlucks, we had farm volunteer days, we started a book club and a psychic practice circle.

Things evolved and grew, and over those years a beautiful group of friends formed. Many of these people are still close friends, even best friends. My own best friends, and others best friends with one another. We held space for one another through COVID, through births, heartbreaks, breakthroughs, and everything in between.

Over the years, more than 800 souls have joined this group—some came only once, others stayed for years. And hundreds of other people have wanted to start meditating or thought the group was a good idea to join, but didn't ever quite make it here. But all of you brought valuable energy to the group as we brought together a group of people interested in spirituality, community, and exploring consciousness.

I took a pause from the group other than cross-posting events at my new wellness center, because the time commitment and foot traffic in our home became a bit much for my family. I was going to school full-time and I also wanted to wait for the barn renovations to finish so we could have our meetups in the barn. (And anyone familiar with construction knows, that it always takes much longer than one thinks to finish.) But we are nearly done now. The barn is ready! (well, almost!) And I am ready!
