Book Fair w/ Sharon Flake!

Do you remember the Scholastic Book Fairs?

On a warm summer day, your school announced that the Scholastic team would be bringing their van full of books, pencils, puzzles, and all things Lisa Frank. The day was abuzz with students and teachers excitedly clutching their dollar bills, awaiting their turns to board the van full of treasures. Some students had the money to purchase anything they chose, and some students did not.

As one of the students who could not afford more than a book and pencil at these fairs, and on behalf of the Greenwood Plan, I am excited to invite you to the upcoming "We Have Adult Money Now" Book Fair on May 3, 2025.

This is a FREE event for all ages!

Powered by Emerald City and in celebration of National Black Authors Day, we hope you'll join us for a day of nostalgia, dedicated to honoring Black literature, fostering community connections, and engaging in enriching discussions.

• Book Signing by Sharon G. Flake: Renowned Pittsburgh-based author Sharon G. Flake, debuts her newest literary work
• Local Authors and Vendors: Explore a diverse array of books and literary merchandise from Pittsburgh-based authors and vendors.
• Panel Discussion: Engage in a thought-provoking discussion on contemporary issues in literature with our featured panelists, including three-time Coretta Scott King Award-winning author Sharon G. Flake.
• Self Publishing Workshop: Published author, Samantha Black, gives a detailed presentation on how to publish through Amazon's Publishing company, KDP
