Writers Forum - April 2024

This monthly virtual gathering brings together writers of all levels, interests, and backgrounds to celebrate the art of writing.

Whether you're writing your first novel, developing a story for a film, or building a world for a game campaign, share your work, gain insights, and find inspiration in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Event Structure:

1. Meet and Greet (30 minutes):
   A casual introduction session where writers can get to know each other and discuss their current projects.
2. Craft Discussion (1 hour):
   Based on attendees' suggestions, a specific writing topic (e.g., character development, world-building, dialogue) is chosen, and an experienced writer leads a discussion or workshop.
3. Writing Showcase (1 hour):
   Writers are invited to share excerpts of their work for feedback in a supportive setting, such as readings or small group critiques.
4. Progress Check-In (30 minutes):
   A dedicated time for writers to set goals and discuss challenges they're facing, with the opportunity to seek advice from the group.
5. Marketing Moment (30 minutes):
   A segment focused on the business side of writing, with tips on publishing, self-promotion, and building an audience.
6. Networking and Collaboration (30 minutes):
   The event concludes with an open networking session, encouraging collaboration and connection between writers.

Additional Features:

• Guest Speakers: Where available, authors, editors, or literary agents will be in attendance to provide professional insights.
• Writing Challenges: At the end of each event, monthly prompts and challenges will be shared to keep writers engaged for discussion at the next event.
• Online Community: A Discord will be created for the ongoing collaboration, conversation, and creativity of the group between events.
