Indie Game Dev Forum - May 2024

This monthly virtual gathering brings together indie devs of all levels, interests, and backgrounds to celebrate and explore the world of Game Design and Development.

Whether you're writing your first line of code, animating your latest character, scoring a new soundtrack, developing a story, or building a world, come and share your work, gain insights, and find inspiration in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Event Structure:

1. Meet and Greet (30 minutes):
   A casual introduction session where we can get to know each other and discuss our current projects.
2. Craft Discussion (1 hour):
   Based on attendees' suggestions, a specific topic (e.g., game engines, art and music, mechanics, etc) is chosen, and an experienced member of the community leads a discussion or workshop.
3. Project Showcase (1 hour):
   Devs are invited to share demos or screenshots of their work for feedback in a supportive setting.
4. Progress Check-In (30 minutes):
   A dedicated time for devs to set goals and discuss challenges they're facing, with the opportunity to seek advice from the group.
5. Marketing Moment (30 minutes):
   A segment focused on the business side of gamedev, with tips on publishing, self-promotion, and building an audience.
6. Networking and Collaboration (30 minutes):
   The event concludes with an open networking session, encouraging collaboration and connection between devs.

Additional Features:

• Guest Speakers: Where available, devs, artists, testers, or publishers will be in attendance to provide professional insights.
• Dev Challenges: At the end of each event, monthly prompts and challenges will be shared to keep devs engaged for discussion at the next event.
• Online Community: A Discord will be created for the ongoing collaboration, conversation, and creativity of the group between events.
