**Roy E. Thibodeau** has been practicing and teaching Yoga and meditation for over 52 years.  Roy graduated from Western Michigan University in December of 1971 with a B.S. degree in Math & Physics.  He read the Autobiography of a Yogi shortly after graduating, began the Self Realizations Lessons, met his **Guru, Yogacharya J. Oliver Black**, One of **Paramahansa Yogananda’s** most advance male disciples, in March of 1972.  He was initiated into **Kriya Yoga** by Yogacharya Oliver in June of that year.  In December of 1972 he moved to Song of the Morning Ranch and began his training under Yogacharya Oliver in earnest.  He remained on the Song of the Morning Staff for 3 years and then remained in the area to be close to Mr. Black until 1985.  During that time his was married to Mary Ann, started a family and career. He had been trained as a Golden Lotus Yoga Teacher (GLYTA) while on the Ranch Staff and continues to this day to teach Yoga and meditation.  In 2008 he was ordained by **Roy Eugene Davis**, another of Paramahansa Yogananda’ s direct disciples and was authorized of give Kriya Yoga Initiations in the tradition of **Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Sri Yukteswar, Paramahansa Yogananda, and Yogacharya Oliver.**  He has also established Golden Lotus Yoga for Spiritual Awareness, a religious non profit, to continue his lineage into the future and train others in the science of Raja & Kriya Yoga.  He and Mary Ann currently live in Grosse Pointe Woods and have 3 grown children in the area with 3 grandchildren.

·        Teacher Trainer at Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat, Vanderbilt, MI
·       Gentle meditative style, chair, yin, slow flow
