Scaling a marketing team at a B2B startup requires you to invest in the right marketing approaches, systems and people – in the right order.
You need to find the right, repeatable channels and activities to invest in that best match up with your product. On the people side, you need a wide range of talented individuals, from designers to writers to analysts – brought in the right order. This month, we’re bringing in Nick Christman who helped build Namely’s marketing team from 2 to 25 people (and growing (http://www.namely.com/careers/)!).
In our time together we’ll cover:
• How did and does Namely discover and chose its marketing approach? How have make it effective and repeatable?
• What approaches didn’t work? How did Namely learn and move on from them?
• How is scaling B2B marketing different than other types of organizations?
The event will be followed by a Q&A and discussion to answer all your questions.
Nick Christman is the VP of Performance Marketing and led marketing at Namely over the last 18 months. Over that period, Namely has increased sales 30X, and marketing now drives 75% of sales, up from 25% in 2014. The team has grown from 2 to 25.
Nick is an engineer turned marketer. In between, he’s worked at two startups, one of which he founded and crashed into the ground. He has also worked for McKinsey and attended Harvard Business School—two places where he said much but did little.
