Our Green Software Foundation hackathon returns for a brand-new season in 2024! Join us for this LIVE preview event with GSF Executive Director Asim Hussain, where you can ask questions and learn how to take part in the upcoming hack.
In 2024, Carbon Hack is about how we measure the environmental impact of software. Until now, no single solution has managed to calculate software’s impacts across all components, across all environments. That changes now with the launch of Impact Framework (IF).
Our vision for IF is comprehensive and consistent measurement of the environmental impact of software - be it for carbon emissions, water or land usage, or other chemical impacts - but we need your help to make it happen!
A bit more about the Hack itself...
From Monday, February 26 - Friday, March 15, 2024, hack participants will compete to showcase their best application of IF in reducing the ecological footprint of software - but we're starting the work right now with a selection of ideas from our Impact Framework team and the invitation to participate opening landing soon. CarbonHack is open to all, including software practitioners and those with a passion for Green Software.
