Green Software Foundation Oslo - February Meetup [In-Person]

Welcome to the Green Software Foundation Oslo February meetup which will be our first community event of 2025! 🥳

📋 Meetup Agenda:

17:00 - 18:00 - Mingling and food. As an environmentally conscious meetup group we will be providing vegetarian food by default (with vegan-friendly options). If you would like a non-vegeterian food option, please let us know!

18:00 - 20:00 - talks:

• Talk 1 - "Data-Driven Sustainability and Security" by Abhishek Dewangan, Enterprise Technical Architect and Vilde Arnesen, Security Technology Specialist at Microsoft Norway. In this session, we will explore how leveraging data, and technology can drive sustainability initiatives and enhance security measures. We will discuss the critical role of data in addressing environmental challenges, improving resource efficiency, and ensuring secure and sustainable operations. Attendees will gain insights into best practices, innovative solutions, and real-world examples of how data-driven approaches can contribute to a more sustainable and secure future.
• Interactive break with mind-boggling questions about green software and sustainability in tech.
• Talk 2 - "Responsible & Green AI" by Jonny Mauland, Nordic Tech Sustainability Lead and Sofie Nergaard Tetzell, Norway Tech Sustainability Lead at Accenture Norway. AI is a rapidly advancing field with immense potential for innovation and positive impact, such as supporting the green transition, but it also brings environmental costs and risks of unethical or biased outcomes. This talk explores the importance of addressing these challenges by adopting Green AI principles to minimize resource consumption and applying Responsible AI guidelines to ensure ethical, fair, and transparent use of the technology.
