Launch Event: Welcome to the Fundamentals of Green Software

We are excited to invite you to our first event at Green Software - Türkiye! This is a new meetup group backed by the Green Software Foundation.

Our first event is: Welcome to the Fundamentals of Green Software. This event is suitable for everyone in the tech, and will be of most interest to software practitioners. Did you know that software is responsible for 4-5% of global carbon emissions? Join us to learn more about how you can lead the change to reduce the environmental impact of software.

In this event, Volkan - our local organiser for Türkiye - will talk in Turkish about the importance of sustainability and climate issues, as well as the current situation and awareness of IT companies and Software teams on those subjects.

After a short break, we will welcome our guest speaker, Sophie Trinder. Sophie will talk in English and introduce the GSF and it's projects including Principles and Patterns recommendations for Green Software best practice.

The event will end with light refreshments and a chance to connect with other people in the tech industry who share your passion.
