Stop Mailing Me! A GTD Fairy Tale of One Thousand and One Messages

Details

Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there lived a GTD enthusiast who was overwhelmed by a never-ending flood of emails, Teams posts, and chat messages. Every day, she faced an enormous mountain of to-be-processed information that threatened to drown her productivity and peace of mind.

Join us for our next Meetup, where we'll dive into the enchanting yet chaotic world of modern communication in the context of GTD implementation. In this 90-minute informal session, we'll explore questions like these:

  • How can you manage hundreds or maybe thousands of emails and other incoming messages without losing your sanity or health? Is it really possible to get this information overload
under control or does this only happen in fairy tales?

  • Do you have interesting processing strategies for large amounts of messages?

  • How do you deal with input from various channels?

  • Do you feel the need to process all the messages in your channels, or is it strategical to adopt an ostrich policy and to ignore part of the messages in your inbox?

  • Do you have tips and strategies as to how you yourself help reduce unclear or unnecessary message threads when sending out emails or other messages?

The idea is that we GTD enthusiasts will get enough ideas and tools to live happily ever after with empty inboxes, beautiful next action list and minds like water.

What to expect?

This Meetup is an open exchange of practitioners of Getting Things Done (GTD)

where we want to share our experiences with the coolest self-management method on the planet.

The format of the MeetUp will be an open discussion. We will have a little introduction and some guiding questions prepared. But the magic of the MeetUp comes from the stories and experiences shared by the participants. There will be no recording - we embrace open discussion and sharing.

This meetUp is run by GTD practitioners. GTD is a self-management method that helps you keep a free mind and relieve your brain of the burden of remembering and reminding. If you are not familiar with GTD, but you still want to join the meetup, that's great! You can find a lot of valuable resources on GTD here:

Not familiar with GTD?

That’s not a problem (only a project…)

Just keep in mind that we will keep an eye on the discussion and make sure that the discussion remains valuable for GTD practitioners.
