What we’re about
Getting Things Done Pittsburgh (GTD PGH) Productivity Group is a community of local personal productivity enthusiasts who enjoy discussing and sharing ideas/resources centering on David Allen's work, started with his well-regarded book on personal productivity, Getting Things Done®, in and around the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania metropolitan area. It's that simple!
We do this by...
1) discussing components of the Getting Things Done methodology at the group meetups;
2) discussing, publishing and publicizing new GTD concepts/products of David Allen & Co. (as well as others) that improve upon members' GTD implementations;
3) inviting members (those new and old to GTD) to the group to share their background with GTD, challenges they are currently facing, and information and resource collaboration; and,
4) providing an online platform to connect outside of our monthly meetups about your ideas, challenges, SUCCESSES, and more with GTD.
Once a quarter (and sometimes more often) we host seminars and workshops by GTD experts to teach Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level material to members interested in growing in their GTD practice.
Who should join?
If you have ever thought, "I could be more productive." Or, "I need to stop procrastinating on major goals in my life." Or, "Where did all this clutter come from?" you're a good candidate for this Meetup. If you have read David Allen's materials, or even tried to implement GTD into your life, work or personal, join us. If you are a GTD black belt ninja and would like to share your GTD skills and knowledge with others. Well, this is the Meetup for you too!
When do we meet?
Our meetups are posted on the meetup site as scheduled, so check the main page often to see when they're announced!
If you have any questions, please message Ray Sidney-Smith, the Founder/Meetup Organizer.

The “Engage” stage in Getting Things Done® is about doing—choosing the right action with confidence and clarity. Our Virtual Coworking Session gives you the space and social accountability to do just that. Whether you’re clearing your inbox, moving a project forward, or simply knocking out your next actions, this is your time to focus and execute.
## Overview
- Think about what you plan to accomplish during an upcoming Virtual Coworking Session. (Pro tip: post your project or task below for extra accountability.)
- Log into our Coworking Space at the time of the Event.
- If it asks, the passcode: productive
- Once we get started working, keep your video on, and mute your microphone.
- Celebrate success!
## How Virtual Coworking Works
Our flavor of virtual coworking is to establish social accountability into the digital environment so that you have a productive experience.
When you enter the Coworking Space, you will have a chance to meet-and-greet briefly with fellow coworkers (by Chat), write what you plan to accomplish during the Coworking Session (in the chat), and then we will get started with the Coworking Session.
Once the Coworking Session begins, we ask that you to keep your video on, mute your microphone and get to task. The Coworking Leader will try to touch base about halfway through the Coworking Session (via Chat) to make sure those who have wandered onto unproductive endeavors can steer back on course. (Coworking Leaders may not be able to do so if they're in a meeting or deep in work themselves! So, it may be good to set yourself a timer.)
At the end of the Coworking Session, we'll do a little celebration for all that we have accomplished virtually, together!
## Where We Will Be Coworking
You will join the Virtual Coworking Session via Zoom.us, a free, Web-based meeting and phone conferencing software. (You must register for the Event in order for the Zoom link to appear!) You do not need to have a microphone and speakers as there's no audio associated with these sessions, but you do need a computer/laptop/mobile device with high-speed Internet access. You can join the Zoom meeting by PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android.
To join the Zoom Meeting, click the Event "Zoom link" and once Zoom launches, type your name if/when it asks.
I suggest you visit https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting to download the "Zoom Client for Meetings" on your PC, Mac or Linux computer/laptop, or https://zoom.us/download#mobile_app for the iOS and Android OS device mobile app links, prior to the meeting. If you would like to familiarize yourself with Zoom or need further help joining the meeting, please visit https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting..
If you run into trouble with the Zoom Meeting software, you can join the Virtual Coworking Session via the Web browser (by clicking on the Zoom link again and canceling the pop-up when you click the Zoom link. Then, choose the text link "Join from your Browser" on the page. You will be joining the meeting in your Web browser, so you will not have all Zoom's features but at least you'll be able to join us.
If you run into any trouble, comment below and we'll try to help you out.
While rare but may happen, you may be the only one to show up in a virtual coworking session. In this case, please start working!
And with that... Happy coworking!

- Weekly Review Accountability Party (WRAP)Link visible for attendees
Are you doing your Weekly Review this week? I hope the answer is yes!
Get ready for your Weekly Review and join us at the Weekly Review Accountability Party! We start at 10:30 AM Eastern every Friday. (Check the GTD Café channel in Personal Productivity Club for other WRAP events that might be happening throughout the week via https://www.personalproductivity.club/share/NGSGigeO1j7bUeMZ?utm_source=manual.)
What is the Weekly Review Accountability Party?
We are GTDers looking for greater accountability to setting aside time to perform our Weekly Reviews. This is a weekly event where you can join other GTDers who are doing their Weekly Reviews. Also, check out this episode of ProductivityCast, Episode 045, "Weekly Review: Getting Things Done (GTD)," via https://productivitycast.net/045 or your favorite podcast app!
* * * As of March 18, 2022, we have implemented additional 🛡️ security to keep the spammers/bots out of the WRAP. * * *
Please note the following:
1️⃣) Any old WRAP links are now ⛔ void. The new WRAP Zoom link is only accessible from within GTD Weekly Review Accountability Party events (see this 🎥 video: https://vimeo.com/689262090/007ba50043).2️⃣) You must join Personal Productivity Club's GTD Café (https://www.personalproductivity.club/share/Y-sL9x4h5bvbRtIB?utm_source=manual) and have a Zoom.us account (so make sure to sign up for a free Zoom.us account-- https://zoom.us/signup --only if you don't already have one).
3️⃣) You must be logged into that Zoom.us account when you click on that "Zoom" or "Meeting Link" link. So, before going to the GTD Weekly Review Accountability Party event page, go to https://zoom.us and log in, then click on the "Meeting Link" to join the WRAP.
Apologies for all this, but we want to make sure WRAP's are a time when you can have relaxed focus to get your Weekly Reviews done. Please message the Organizer if you have any questions.
WRAP Rules
- Show up at the time of the Weekly Review Accountability Party (WRAP). We use Zoom, a video meeting software, to host this WRAP; you need to use the link provided inside Personal Productivity Club (see above), then download and install Zoom to connect with the group...it's free for you to do so.
- Start your video, say hello to the group, mix and mingle before we all get started.
I suggest, if you haven't done so before, complete the GTD-Q to know where you are at: https://gettingthingsdone.com/gtd-q/. (I do this before every Weekly Review to help me track how well my system is keeping me in the C&C quadrant. You may not wish to do this weekly; that's OK.)
I will walk any newbies through a quick introduction of the Weekly Review if needed (please message me when you join the WRAP Zoom meeting link to let me know if this is your first time), we'll introduce ourselves briefly, and then I'll mute everyone's microphones.
Start your Weekly Review. Stay on video for accountability, as you are able.
We allot two hours for the event, but some will do their Weekly Review in more time, some in less time. If we get to two hours and you're still working on your Weekly Review, that's fine. The host will end the Zoom, but you should keep going to complete yours, or find a time later in the the day or over the weekend to finish!
