Critics Consensus: Drawing on strong performances by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, Francis Ford Coppola's continuation of Mario Puzo's Mafia saga set new standards for sequels that have yet to be matched or broken.

"Through a compelling dual character study, the sequel explores the intertwined yet distinct paths of its protagonists. The result is a breathtaking display of filmmaking leaving us in awe of its expansive scope, attention to detail, and sheer perfection." - Mark Johnson

"Acknowledgement should be given the film for its sweep and scope and a style so distinctive that Coppola must be credited with creating something entirely fresh and inimitable -- the hallmarks of a first-rate artist." - Dorothy Smiljanich

I have a profound appreciation for Part II. We continue to follow the story of Michael Corleone as he endeavours to consolidate his power and protect the Family. I'm not inclined to write much, but to let the film speak for itself.

All three parts can be viewed using Paramount streaming and for free via fsharetv.cc

The GPL has DVDs of all three parts, plus a Blu-ray of Part I. These are all the Coppola restoration versions. The KPL and the WPL have all three on DVD. The KPL has multiple copies.

These movies are not very available online. If you have DVD copies you are willing to lend out, that may be appreciated. Barry is lending out his GF Trilogy digital copies. Please ask for details in the group chat.

The details above refer to the original cut of Part III which was released in 1990. The Godfather Coda (2020) is available on YouTube Movies, to rent for $4.99:

Note: Part III was re-edited in 2020. If possible, let’s view this “Coda” version, which is Coppola’s reconsidered conclusion.
