Calm in 20 Minutes: Introduction to Autogenic Training
Details
If you feel overloaded, overwhelmed, or tense—this workshop is for you.
Join me, a Vienna University–certified mental trainer with years of experience in science-based self-regulation techniques, for a short, evidence-based introduction to autogenic training, followed by a 20-minute guided practice. You’ll experience the calming power of passive concentration and learn how to apply it on your own.
What is autogenic training?
A relaxation method developed by German psychiatrist Johannes Heinrich Schultz in the 1920s. It uses silent, calming self-statements—such as “My arm is heavy” or “My heartbeat is calm”—together with focused awareness of bodily sensations. This process helps your nervous system shift into a state of balance and deep relaxation.
By the end of the workshop, you will have:
- Experienced firsthand how this technique affects body and mind.
- Learned how to use it independently in moments of stress or cognitive overload.
Science-backed benefits include:
- Reduction of anxiety, tension, and negative mood, with improved energy and well-being.
- Relief for sleep issues, headaches, high blood pressure, asthma, pain, and anxiety.
- Greater emotional stability, immune regulation, stress resilience, and a stronger sense of personal control.
