What we’re about
This is a group for people who live with autism and ADHD who find it hard to socialise due to the challenges inherent in our individual conditions.
We meet once a month to catch up and arrange other activities between us.
We'll try to find different ways to get together in small or larger groups and enjoy activities that aren't so likely to overload the senses and if any of us do find ourselves feeling overwhelmed at any point, we'll be among like-minded and supportive friends who wont judge if you need to step out or leave early.
We like to keep rules to a minimum but we do ask that:
• If you would like to come to a meet then please RSVP by marking yourself as 'Coming' in the Meetup app.
• If you have said that you're coming but then change your mind or can't come for any reason (no pressure or judgement). Please let us know either with a message or by changing your status to 'Not Coming' in the app so that we’re not worried about you.
• If you have a photo on your profile it makes it easier to spot you when you come to your first meeting. This will save you having to try to find us.
Also, although the group’s purpose is to help those in the spectrum socialise, you don’t have to have a diagnosis or even be in the spectrum to come. You can also bring a friend if you like. 🙂
