Risks and opportunities of artificial super-intelligence
Details
Artificial Intelligence - what is it? And how intelligent could machines become? What factors could accelerate the development of artificial super-intelligence (ASI)? How could powerful ASI go wrong? And how can we ensure that ASI is beneficial rather than destructive for humanity?
Our speaker, David Wood, will consider these questions and their ethical implications. David is an independent futurist consultant and the author of books including "Sustainable Superabundance" and "The Abolition of Aging". Prior to this, he was a co-founder of Symbian, playing an important role in the development of smartphones and PDAs. He is the chair of the London Futurists.
