What we’re about
This group is for women who want to meet new people and make friends in and around the Guildford area. There’s similar groups out there but from experience all events seem to get filled quickly. This way we all have more chance of actually meeting new people, making friends and having fun.
We've all had a few tough years and as we get back to 'normal' life, I want to put on events where we can get together and have a fun! I'd love ideas and suggestions for events, and even for others to join as hosts - if they want to.
There are only three rules:
- Have fun, &
- Attend as many or as little events as you like,
- Change your RSVP if you can't make it so someone else can enjoy the first two rules.
I look forward to seeing you all at an event soon.
:-)

Theatre Collection Guildford presents
### By Samuel Beckett
Fri 17 Oct 2025 - Sat 18 Oct 2025
Following a successful run at the Arcola Theatre in 2024, Theatre Collection Guildford are bringing Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days to Guildford!
Happy Days was first performed in 1961 and named as one of the 40 best plays of all time by The Independent. It tells the story of Winnie, buried up to her waist and slowly consumed by her life and surroundings; only a bag of objects and her husband can distract her from the endless monotony. Will she survive? Can she claw her way out? Or is this the end of her Happy Days?
Jaymes Sygrove (Blithe Spirit film, 2020) directs this revival, initially staged by Victor Sobchak. Catharine Humphrys (The House of Bernarda Alba, National Theatre) reprises her role as Winnie.> It's certainly fresh and properly absurd... Daring work.
> - Fringe Review - Exhibition Trip: Marie Antoinette Style (V&A South Kensington, London)London Waterloo Station (WAT), London
Does anyone fancy a trip to London to see the Marie Antoinette Style exhibition?
The tickets have just gone on sale, and the availability for the date looked reasonable when I checked just now.
The full price is £23, but there are various discounted options available, such as the £11.00 Art Fund Pass.
I suggest we meet at London Waterloo Station at 12:00 pm. Book your visit for 13:00. If the slot is gone, we can go to the one just after.
V&A email 17th June 2025
A fashion icon and one of the world’s first ‘celebrities’, Marie Antoinette not only shaped the fashion, design and decorative arts of her own time, but her influence continues over more than 250 years later.
The exhibition will trace the cultural impact of Marie Antoinette's style, and her ongoing inspiration for leading designers and creatives, from Sofia Coppola and Manolo Blahnik to Moschino and Vivienne Westwood.
The world of Marie Antoinette will be brought to life with a scent experience that will re-create scents of the court, and the perfume favoured by the Queen herself.
