This one day course at The Guildford Institute is designed to improve your digital photography by understanding your camera controls and how they can be used to improve your images.
It is aimed at photographers with a basic level of skill who are keen to take their camera off auto mode and develop their photographic skills.
The course is for your if you have recently joined a camera club, have a new camera with more options or just want to improve your photography.
The course is suitable for any camera which can be taken off automatic mode, e.g. most digital bridge, mirrorless and dSLR cameras. I have loan cameras available, please contact me if you would like to use one.
We will explore both the technical and artistic elements of image taking, paying particular attention to composition, focus and exposure
and how these relate to your choice of lens, ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
The course will be a mixture of explanation, discussion and picture taking with kind and constructive feedback.
We will break for lunch, please bring your own or visit one of the nearby cafes.
Places are limited to 8 people to ensure everyone gets individual help and support.
The venue is in central Guildford with good public transport links. All day car parking is available in Guildford or at the Park and Rides.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
This introduction to street photography workshop will explore some of London's iconic locations. Great for street photography and good for everyone from beginners through to experienced photographers.
We will be working on a range of street photography subjects; from candid people and street portraits through to more documentary and journalistic approaches. We will also look for small details and abstract possibilities to make the best of everything that London has to offer.
We will meet up at 10:30 and after brief introductions will be on our way. We will stop for lunch to rest our feet and review our progress and then continue with our photography for the afternoon. We will have a brief review at the end of the workshop, which should finish at about 3:30pm.
There will be ample time for help and tuition throughout the day which will use a number of assignments to help develop your approach to street photography and your understanding of various techniques available.
If you have any questions, please get in touch.
