Raising the Steaks: Poker Night and Immigrant Meat Drive

Start saving up your silver coins. Look under your couch cushions, your car floorboards, or anywhere else that change lives, because it’s almost poker night!

• Suggested buy-in is $5 - $20

Come join us for our Gulf Coast Humanists’ August Social Event - High “Steaks” Poker Night - on Thursday, August 28th, at 6pm We’ll be playing some friendly hands of Nickel-Dime-Quarter-Poker, while also collecting proteins for the Immigrant Food Pantry. All donations will go toward feeding 19 Coast families affected by recent local ICE raids.

• Don’t know how to play Poker? That’s okay. We’ll teach you.

Protein requests are ground meats, hot dog franks, drumsticks, chicken nuggets, Vienna sausages, cold cuts, pork chops, bacon, and breakfast sausages, but any/all protein donations are appreciated.

Poker Snacks and Drinks will be served, but feel free to bring a snack-able dish or shareable drinks, if you so choose.

• It would also help if any interested parties owned folding tables and chairs that they could loan us.
