GameMaker Game Jam @ Gumbo!

In partnership with GameMaker, we are hosting our first ever in-person game jam at GUMBO HQ! Come hang out, eat snacks, and make games with us.

The Grand Prize?? Gumbo floating memberships for the winning team (up to $3000 value) and all participants get a free GameMaker Pro license ($100 value) for life!

Friday Oct 25
6PM kickoff - GameMaker presentation, team formation / networking, food, drinks, music
7PM - theme reveal
↓
Croissants + snacks + caffeine available in the space throughout the jam period
↓
Sunday Oct 27
7PM closing ceremonies and game presentations
Grand Prize to be awarded the week following

1. At least one person from your team must RSVP to and attend this Meetup event in order to sign up to work at the Gumbo office during the jam.
2. Sign up for the [jam on itch.io](https://itch.io/jam/gumbo-gamemaker-jam) (if you can't come to the event, that's ok! you can still participate in the jam)

Jam Rules

• Maximum four team members. At least one team member must be within commuting distance of NYC in order to take advantage of the prize.
• Participants must use GameMaker as their game engine.
• No AI content.

Participants may work at the Gumbo office Saturday 10/26 and Sunday 10/27 10am-7pm.I f you want to work at the Gumbo office for the jam, at least one of your team members must attend the opening ceremony and sign up for space. We will prioritize teams of more than one person but will have space for teams of one as well. Space is limited!

All participants in Gumbo events must treat one another with respect. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry or any comments meant to dehumanize, alienate or otherwise hurt Gumbo members, their guests, or anyone in the wider Gumbo community. Be cool or hit the bricks.
