Come train your whole body with the 5 elements forms of various weapons, spear, staff, short staff (jo), sword...

Xingyi is based on universal movements which can be applied to any weapon including empty hands. Training a variety of weapons really helps convey the principals better; I am constantly learning the value of this. Each weapon will highlight certain movement aspects and give you insights that you can then take to other weapons. For example, the staff will help you better understand the "backside" of most weapons. This will help you see more strikes that you might not have been aware of, and help you deal with the more vulnerable aspects of each weapon. Another example is how the spear will strengthen your wrists in ways that will expand your power range, all while minimizing your movement.
