Ready for an unforgettable adventure? Swap the city streets for the serenity of the river as we paddle through stunning countryside, soak up nature, and embrace the thrill of exploration with a group of inspiring women!

Join us for a fully guided, women-only stand-up paddleboarding journey through the Sussex countryside. This trip is designed for those who’ve paddled at least a few times before to build confidence and get more kilometers under their belt!

🌿 The Paddle

📍 Arundel to Swans Bridge, River Arun
We’ll kick off our adventure in the picturesque medieval town of Arundel, where its ancient castle and cathedral set the stage for a truly unique start. Paddling with the tide, we’ll glide through the South Downs National Park, a tranquil stretch of water surrounded by rolling hills and charming villages. With no roads nearby, it's just you, the river, and endless countryside beauty.

Keep an eye out for local wildlife—herons, kingfishers, kestrels, and maybe even the occasional friendly seal!

🍰 Midway Cake & Picnic Stop
We’ll pause at the charming village of Amberley for a well-earned break. Enjoy a slice of cake and a hot drink prepared by our guide on the Kelly Kettle. Bring a packed lunch to enjoy a relaxing riverside picnic—maybe even a wild swim if you’re feeling adventurous!

🏡 Finish at Swans Bridge
After lunch, we continue our journey beneath the South Downs Way footbridge and through Pulborough Brooks Nature Reserve before reaching our finish point at Swans Bridge. From here, you can catch a train from Pulborough or take our transport back to Arundel.

This adventure is designed for paddlers who’ve had a lesson or two before and feel comfortable covering 20km downstream. If you’re new to paddleboarding, we recommend taking a lesson first—once you’ve mastered the basics, the possibilities are endless!

🚶 Come Solo!
We know how tricky it can be to plan adventures with friends, so we encourage you to join solo. Over 90% of our attendees come alone! You’ll be invited to a WhatsApp group to meet your fellow Gutsy Girls ahead of the trip, making it easy to coordinate travel together.
