Roll into the Afternoon: "D&D"-type Game Gathering for Guys

Join us for a casual afternoon of tabletop gaming with ShadowDark, simple and ideal for beginners. Described as a simplified version of Dungeons & Dragons, ShadowDark is basically like D&D with "stripped down rules, hot and fast, and your characters are likely to die." It's perfect for those who cherish the spirit of adventure and inventive solutions over complex rules.

The game itself isn't really a "win or lose", it's a cooperative adventure that you do together. Sort of like if the Lord of the Rings were played out - but with no screens or electronics. Your object is to overcome the challenges you face as a team within the game.

This meetup isn't really about gaming; it's an opportunity for a small group of guys to connect and have fun in a laid-back setting. This is not intended for hardcore/longtime gamers, but for people that vaguely remember playing or always had a hankering to try D&D. No experience is necessary, and since we're all new to ShadowDark, we'll all be exploring together.

We're organizing this gathering as a relaxed alternative to meeting up at a restaurant. It’s a great excuse to hang out, roll some dice, and enjoy each other’s company. Feel free to bring along your favorite snacks or drinks to share! If it runs long we might get Chinese food or pizza.

Please RSVP as early as possible. If interest isn't high enough a week before, we may need to cancel, so don't delay in signing up. If you're interested but can't make this date, let me know so I can add you to our "interested list" for future sessions.

This is at a private home in San Jose (near Almaden Lake south of Hwy 85 & Hwy 87). Parking is a non-issue but public transportation would be "complicated". Address sent via DM. FYI if you're allergic to dogs, German Shepards live here too.
