Taughannock Falls State Park is an incredibly popular destination, so if the Taughannock Falls Gorge Trail parking lot is full, park across the street in the parking lot on the east side of Rt 89. There is a nominal NY State Park entrance fee.
The first 3/4ths mile of the hike is uphill as we will ascend to the top of the gorge's northern rim. The remaining 4.25 miles will be mostly flat or downhill as we'll view the gorge and falls from the northern and southern rims. We'll finish by hiking next to Taughannock Creek up to the base of the 215 ft. waterfall. Post hike, we'll visit a winery/restaurant on Cayuga Lake.
