Getting Pushy with SignalR and Reactive Extensions (Rx)

Details

Jim Wooley will be our speaker, and we will be meeting in our normal location: Room 401 of Building 100 at Gwinnett Tech.

SignalR facilitates push notifications over HTTP to a variety of clients. The Reactive Extensions were designed to allow for asynchronous LINQ over push based collections. In this talk, you’ll see how the synergy of these two technologies merge to make otherwise difficult tasks, a push over.

By day, Jim Wooley is a consultant for Slalom Consulting, In his free time, Jim is a frequent speaker, INETA Regional Speaker (http://www.ineta.org/Speakers/Speakers.aspx), MVP (https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/Jim.Wooley), and author of "LINQ in Action (http://www.linqinaction.net/)". He is always striving to stay at the forefront of technology and enjoys the thrill of a new challenge. He has been active evangelizing LINQ since it's announcement in 2005. In addition, he attempts to pass on the insights he has gained by being active in the community, including organizing and speaking at code camps and regional events, including DevLink, DevWeek, CodeMash, CodeStock, VS Live, and MIX.
