The 1/25 ride was fantastic. 5 riders including Roger up from Anaheim joined in on the 345 mile ride round trip. Weather could not have been better. Kay's Orcutt Country Kitchen was good food. Had a great time. Thanks, Roger, for coming up to join us. Come any time. Thanks also to Mke R, Mike L, Bill D for joining in.

After speaking with the riders, and giving it more thought, I have decided NOT to do the Julian area ride for Feb 29 - too many miles for a single day. (Sorry, Werner - we'll plan another weekend ride to Hemet so YOU can lead us around your area.)

So, I am going to do a warped figure 8; The Old Road to 126 to the "back way" paralleling 126; to Grimes Canyon, over the top and across to Balcom Canyon, back to the "back way' to Santa Paula to the 118 (not the freeway; we'll take the 118 road to the 118 freeway); back to Crazy Otto's in Vasquez Rocks if we have the right timing) over Davenport Road, back to Sierra Highway (maybe) and up to Palmdale/Lancaster, over to 58 to Tehachapi (to watch the circling railroad train and stopping at the train museum, I hope) over to the 5 then back to Sylmar. As always, KSU at 8:00 a.m at my house. This will be another mix of canyons, farm lands, small towns, twisties, and, unfortunately, some freeways. As always, rain cancels. You do not need to RSVP; if you ain't here at 8:00 a.m., you ain't going.

PS - We can only do this exact ride once every 4 years. Do you know why?
If you cannot make the ride on 2/29, but have the previous Sunday (2/23) available, I am going to pre-ride it, checking out road conditions, determining comfort and fuel stops, and figuring out if we can make Crazy Otto's in Vasquez Rocks in time for lunch....let me know if you want to join me in the pre-ride. KSU also at 8:00 a.m., also leaving from my house. (All group rides are on Saturday unless otherwise stated.) As always, please come with both your bike and tummy tanks full.
