Camping at Little Pine State Park July 2 to July 6, 2025

Details

This trip is waiting list only. Once you reserve your site and tell me the site number, I will add you as going. I do not allow any guests or plus 1's on my hikes/events. Everyone must be a member of H3O and sign up on their own. Membership is free and easy.

Join us for a long camping, hiking, biking and hopefully kayaking weekend at Little Pine State Park (LPSP) in Waterville PA. This is about a 3.5 hr drive from Valley Forge Park. Little Pine Lake is 45 acres and you can kayak/canoe and fish in there. There are boat rentals on the weekend. There are nesting balding eagles near the Little Pine Lake as well.

There is NO cell reception in the campground. Since this is July 4th weekend, I will check closer to the trip to see about local fireworks. Campground permits 2 tents per site.

There are about 10 miles of hiking trails in LPSP. Lots of other trails are in the surrounding Tiadaghton State Forest, including Golden Eagle Trail, Black Forest Trail and Mid State Trail. Expect spectacular views with some strenuous hiking to get to the views.

The Pine Creek Rail Trail (PCRT) , built on the abandoned railroad grade that parallels Pine Creek, extends 63 miles from Jersey Shore in Tiadaghton State Forest north to Wellsboro Junction in Tioga State Forest. There are parking areas close by to drive to and ride along the trail. This is very scenic as you are riding parallel to Pine Creek. Website for more information is : https://pinecreekvalley.com/pine-creek-rail-trail/#pcrt-map.

To reserve a site, you can call the reservation center at 888-PA-PARKS Monday to Saturday 7am to 5pm or visit the site at Stay the Night at Little Pine State Park

A few of us have reserved sites 12, 13, 34 and 40 . Be advised the dam flows into Little Pine Creek which flows through part of the LPST. Sites 88 to about 96 are along there. While they are beautiful sites with the water right there, it is very loud. Ear plugs may be needed at night the closer you are to that section.

Right outside the campground is Happy Acres Restaurant and Wildlife Lounge, and Happy Acres General Store and Ice Cream Parlor. Rob and I can confirm the ice cream is delicious.

This is a state park so alcohol is prohibited. Check in and check out is 3pm.
