Wissahickon Woods and Meadows - Andorra Edition

Details
The Wissahickon Park has 2000 acres of woods and meadows as well as a creek, all within the City of Philadelphia. We will be hiking about 5 miles, through Andorra Woods and Meadow, sometimes on rocky trails in the woods, and sometimes out in the hot sun. If we are lucky the wild beebalm will be in bloom, and we will see butterflies. We will do one major hill but overall this is not a super hilly hike. Dress accordingly, bring bug spray, sun protection and plenty of water. There is a bailout point about halfway. Portapotties near the start. We will adjust our pace depending on the heat, but expect to be walking continuously with only brief stops for water. Steady rain or thunder cancels, so check at 7:30 the morning of. Be aware that the weather is weird these days and it may be totally difference from where you are coming from!
Park in the Northwestern Avenue Parking Lot near the stables, off Germantown Ave, and meet at the trailhead for Forbidden Drive, near the benches. Please do not leave any valuables in your car, and read the scary notice below!
