Caton Burwell, QED Investors
Caton is a director at QED Investors. QED Investors actively supports high-growth businesses that use information to compete. QED has made several investments in the education space including Koofers here in DC. Caton received his MBA from Stanford Business School
Ed Peters, OPower
Ed is the director of architecture at Opower. OPower is using big data insights to help improve energy consumer education and behavioral shifts. Ed specializes in robust distributed systems. Ed earned an MS from University of Illinois-Champaign and his BA from UVA.
Laura Sonn, Data Quality Campaign
Laura supports the Data Quality Campaign’s State Policy Initiatives team, focusing particularly on the issues of teacher effectiveness and linkages to postsecondary and workforce data. From 2007 to 2009, Laura taught 6th grade math in Brooklyn, NY, through the Teach for America program. She received a bachelor’s degree in theology and economics from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in teaching from Pace University.
Todd Wyatt, EverFi
Todd is the Director of Research at EverFi, Inc. He is a behavioral statistician and developmental psychologist with extensive experience applying cutting-edge, statistical analysis techniques.. His research with EverFi takes a large-scale epidemiological approach to with pertinent health and wellness issues impacting youth and young adults such as: substance use, sexual health, hazing/bullying, financial literacy, and digital citizenship.
