Hackathon Practice Sessions and Social Nights

We are hosting a casual session for anyone interested in sharpening their skills for upcoming hackathons or just looking to connect with other local builders. Whether you are a student, a career-changer, or a seasoned developer, this is a low-pressure space to work on small technical challenges, swap project ideas, or find potential partners for future competitions. We find that the best way to prepare for a hackathon is simply by talking through problems with others who are also looking to learn.

The evening is intentionally informal. We will have some light prompts to help get the conversation started, but mostly this is about meeting people in the Long Beach tech community and sharing what you are currently working on. You do not need to have a specific project ready to go or a high level of expertise to join us; just bring yourself, your curiosity, and perhaps a laptop if you have something you want to show off. We hope to see you there, so please take a moment to RSVP if you can make it.

Whether you are gearing up for an upcoming hackathon or just looking to sharpen your coding skills in a low-pressure environment, join us for our Hackathon Prep and Pizza Social. This evening is all about getting ready to build. We will spend some time working through project ideas, troubleshooting potential tech stacks, and sharing tips on how to manage your time and team dynamics during a sprint. It is a great space to bounce ideas off others and get some honest feedback before the clock starts ticking at your next competition.

This meetup is designed for anyone who enjoys the collaborative, fast-paced nature of hackathons, regardless of your experience level. We want to keep things casual, so expect a mix of collaborative problem-solving and plenty of conversation over pizza. It is a chance to meet fellow developers, designers, and creators in the city who are looking to ship projects and make connections. If you plan on coming by, please take a moment to RSVP so we can get an accurate head count for the food.

Whether you are a seasoned developer looking to sharpen your skills or someone just curious about how to get started with coding projects, this event is designed to be a low-pressure space to learn and connect. We will spend some time working through small, hands-on challenges together, sharing tips on how to approach hackathons, and troubleshooting any projects you might be stuck on. It is not about winning or having the perfect code; it is about getting comfortable with the process in a collaborative environment.

After we spend some time tinkering, we will pull back from the screens to grab a drink and catch up. The goal is to build a local community of people who enjoy problem-solving and want to see more tech-focused events in Salinas. If you have been looking for an excuse to dive into a new project or just want to meet others in the area who share an interest in building things, please come by and join the conversation. We would love to see you there, so please go ahead and RSVP if you think you can make it.

We are putting together a casual session for anyone interested in sharpening their technical skills or getting a head start on upcoming hackathon projects. Whether you are currently working on a specific build, need a sounding board for a tricky piece of code, or just want to spend a few hours in a focused environment with others, this is a space to get things done. We will keep the setup simple: a quiet space to plug in, work through your bugs, and bounce ideas off others in the local community.

This is a low-pressure environment meant for developers of all levels, from students just starting out to experienced engineers looking for a change of scenery. We believe that coding is often better when it is collaborative, so we encourage you to bring whatever project you are currently tinkering with or come ready to join a spontaneous sprint. It is a great way to meet local peers and make some steady progress on your technical goals.

If you are planning to swing by, please take a moment to RSVP so we can get an idea of how many people to expect. We look forward to seeing what you are working on.
