HN Kansai #78

Details

HN Kansai is the longest running tech related event in Kansai, since 2012! Every month, we get together in Kyoto, Osaka, (sometimes Kobe) to talk about technology, design, games, and startups. Come join us!

Why join?

  • Learn Stuff: Learn about new technologies and fields you didn't even know existed!
  • Meet People: Meet local developers, designers, and other tech-curious members.
  • Share your Work: Share your work, and gain valuable feedback and presenting experience.
  • Share your Interests: Give talks about your interests or hobbies, no matter how niche they may seem!

We will meet on January 31st. Note that the location is very close to Juso (Hankyu line) this time (check the map).

We have two presentations planned so far:

  1. Will Budd will talk about RingSocket: an open source WebSocket server/framework for Linux he wrote in C. After briefly introducing the problem the WebSocket protocol was designed to solve, he'll cover some of the difficulties he encountered writing a high-performance server implementation while trying to keep the API relatively simple. If time allows, he'll also cover some "hello world" example(s), envisioned use cases, and future plans for the project.

  2. Mouna Balghouthi, is going to discuss the advantages and drawbacks of different Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, Less and Safe. Mouna is a software engineer and Scrum Master at Rise Up Inc, a health and beauty products company.
