Most AI conversations in HR start at the strategy layer. Which vendor. Which use case. What the board wants to see by Q4.

Then the tool ships, and somebody in accounts payable finds out from a Slack message that their job just changed.

This session is about that second part.

We're moving the conversation from AI strategy to the human side of the equation. We'll look at how AI is reshaping day-to-day work, what employees are worried about (and whether anyone is asking them), how organizations are communicating about AI deployment, and what separates AI that improves the employee experience from AI that quietly becomes surveillance, pressure, and belonging risk.

Bring a real deployment from your own org. You'll leave with a lens you can apply to it on Monday.

WHAT WE'LL COVER
By the end of the session, you'll be able to:

  • Describe how AI is changing the nature of work across different job families, and why the impact lands unevenly across levels, functions, and demographic groups.
  • Tell the difference between AI as a productivity tool (augmentation) and AI as a workforce reduction mechanism (displacement), and name where your organization sits on that spectrum.
  • Explain the psychological and cultural factors driving employee trust or distrust of AI at work, and connect those to engagement and belonging outcomes.
  • Apply a communication and change management lens to at least one AI deployment affecting employees in your organization.
  • Identify two design principles for introducing AI tools in ways that strengthen the employee experience instead of eroding it.

WHO THIS IS FOR
HR and People leaders, talent and L&D practitioners, internal comms, change managers, and anyone in the room when someone says "let's just pilot it and see."

This is part of the Hacking HR Learning Pod on Ethical AI: Ethics, Governance, and Impact. Come for this one even if you missed the earlier sessions.
