In October 2017 he moved to Austin TX and started studying at Hack Reactor to transition his career to JavaScript, he graduated from cohort 23, in January 2017. He enjoys Teaching JS and playing the guitar. Goal: At this workshop series you will solidify your understanding of Fundamental JavaScript, furthering your knowledge and better preparing you for our Technical Interview. WE WILL BE REVIEWING 4 DIFFERENT CONCEPTS EACH MONTH (then starting over) Week 1 - JavaScript101 11/26/18 Week 2 - Functions & Scope 12/3/18 Week 3 - Arrays & Objects 12/1018 Week 4 - Loops & Logic 12/17/18 You'll learn how to tackle some of the biggest challenges faced by those learning JavaScript. This is a highly interactive course that uses exercises and projects to drive home these JavaScript Fundamentals. Topics covered: JavaScript101 and How to compose and use functions in JavaScript The mechanics of functions in JavaScript How local and global scoping works How the scope chain affects how you build JavaScript programs Who this workshop is for: This workshop is for beginners with limited JavaScript experience. Optional Prep: Udacity's Intro to JavaScript course (estimated 10-12 hours to complete) Gordon Zhu’s Watch and Code up to and including “Interlude - Data types and comparisons” First four chapters of Eloquent JavaScript What to bring: Students will need to bring their own laptops! Ever thought about learning to code? If so, this meetup is for you! This meetup is run by Hack Reactor Austin, a 3 month immersive software engineering school part of the national Reactor Core Network. Our mission is to teach a driven community of students the latest in web development skills. We're educators first and software engineers second. We employ 21st century, rapid-iteration teaching principles to teach professionals the most in-demand skills in the most effective ways possible. Events we'll host will include coding workshops in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Git, networking events for tech professionals in the Austin area and community events to attract attention to the tech scene, just to name a few. Our goal is to provide the Austin area with effective training that can support the lively tech ecosystem. Feel free to reach out if you're looking to get your hands dirty in some code!
