Data Journalism 101
Details
Are you a data journalist, journalist who wants to learn how to use data in your stories, techie who is good with data sets and scraping or visualizing data or anyone who just wants to learn about the process?
Join us, June 22nd for a great evening of all things data journalism. We have gathered some experienced data journalists to talk about data journalism and give us a tutorial on how to gather, interpret and use data in our stories.
We'll start the evening with an introduction to data journalism followed by a showcase of a cool data journalism project.
Data Pitch
Do you have an interesting data journalism project you want to work on, but you need some help? Are you looking for technologists to help you scrape, or people can help you visualize your data? Data pitch allows you to briefly (in 3 minutes or less) introduce your idea and tell the community what you need that evening. We hope with the diverse group of attendees people will be able to make matches or help people find resources to complete their projects. So bring your ideas!
We have a talented lineup of data journalists and visualizers for the evening.
Lab111 has graciously offered their space for this meetup.
