Trace, Touch, Feel the Brisbane River - the Art & Science of Haptic Storytelling

Details
This coming month we're planning a one-off in-person event (COVID permitting) to showcase a recent work by Grania Kelly, a new-media artist and documentary filmmaker working in immersive storytelling, exploring the intersection between art, new-technology and science.
Grania recently partnered with QUT's VISeR team to create an immersive digital art installation at The Cube @ QUT Gardens Point for the Curiosity Festival. The exhibit, Trace, Touch, Feel, combines haptic technology to allow users to feel ultrasonic pressure against their hands as they travel on an immersive geo-tour of Brisbane River from Moreton Bay to Wivenhoe Dam. Haptics combine with satellite imagery and geospatial data to create bird’s-eye and on-the-ground viewpoints that immerse users amongst Brisbane's local geography.
The VISeR team, led by Gavin Winter are rebooting the exhibit for one night only and along with Grania, will be on hand for a brief Q&A on the night.
We will look to provide refreshments on the night, depending on what COVID-19 requirements permit in the space.
