Civic Studio Project Day benefiting Central City

Details
The Blue House is partnering with Hacks/Hackers to bring together designers, programmers, researchers, storytellers, visual artists, journalists, technologists, community leaders, and activists for the first Civic Studio Project Day.
Join us on Saturday, June 1, for a day of thinking, prototyping, and testing ideas for how to improve media representation and engagement for Central City residents.
All are welcome, but be prepared to work in multi-disciplinary teams to and to get your hands dirty! We’ll be gathering in the morning to split into teams and hash out projects based on direct input from Central City residents and leaders. The goal for the day is to develop and test ideas with tangible outcomes for the neighborhood.
The full schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, May 28, 6pm - Dinner and Design
Join Project Day organizers and partners to review input from neighborhood resident surveys and from neighborhood leaders, and to outline potential projects for Project Day. Enjoy a home-cooked meal!
Thursday, May 30, 10am - Fika
Join the Blue House and the Listening Post for a discussion about survey results gathered via the Listening Posts's text messaging service, which included questions such as "What do you want people to know about your neighborhood?" We will develop more detailed plans for projects and potential applications over bread and coffee.
Saturday, June 1 - Project Day
10 am - Breakfast and introductions
Participants will gather for final brainstorming, then break into groups to work on projects.
1pm - Pizza lunch
Participants will break for lunch and switch teams if they want to work on multiple projects.
5 pm - Party and Show-and-Tell
Teams will show what they’ve accomplished. The Blue House is inviting neighborhood residents and leaders to drop in and see the results of the day, and to discuss possible next steps.
