Networking, happy hour, and casual chat

Dear H/H SEA community,
So, as Sharon mentioned in her note a little while back, my name is Thomas Wilburn and I'm the new organizer for the group. I'm part of the interactives team at the Seattle Times, where I've been for a little over a year now. Before that, I ran the multimedia team for Congressional Quarterly in DC. In between, I worked at a couple of local video game companies. It's been a fun trip.
As organizer, I'd like to accomplish three goals. First, to get back in the habit of scheduling more regular, casual meetings. Second, to put together one bigger hackathon-style event each year. Finally, I'd like to try making this group a resource for more of the Pacific Northwest, including Portland and Spokane, not just Seattle. That's admittedly a bit of a lofty goal, but we might as well aim high.
Anyway, given that I'm pretty new to the group, I wanted to schedule a quick getting-to-know-you meetup for us. Nothing fancy, just a chance to chat a bit, do a little networking, toss some ideas around. And if you have any ideas for what you'd like to do in future H/H events, please let me know.
We'll be at the Fremont Starbucks (I know, I know, Starbucks in Seattle is pretty lame, but they've got tables and wifi on short notice), at 3401 Fremont Ave N, from 6:30 to 8pm on Thursday, September 24th. Hope to see you there!
Thomas
