#1 Covering COVID19: What the Data Tells Us

Details

This is the kick off event for the new Hacks/Hackers Shanghai chapter. In our first meetup we would like to discuss how data journalism helps covering COVID-19 in China. We will invite data reporters from the Sixth Tone and the Paper to share how they build the dashboard rapidly and keep tracking case numbers when the coronavirus broke out during the Chinese Spring Festival. They will also talk about various angles to cover the story and where to find the best, freshest data, and how they clean and organize the data, which might be helpful for the incoming one-year anniversary coverage.
