OpenMissouri and an Introduction to Open Data Resources

We're ending the year with an introduction to Open Data resources, focusing on OpenMissouri (http://openmissouri.org/), an open, participatory catalogue of data sources for the state of Missouri. As we approach the new year, we're hoping to use Hacks/HackersIRE as a way to introduce journalists, developers and civics nerds to resources and tools that we can all use to get stuff done, make neat projects, and improve our communities.

David teaches Computer Assisted Reporting at the University of Missouri Journalism School, serves as academic director for the National Institute of Computer Assisted Reporting (http://ire.org/nicar/) and was a 2010 fellow with the Reynolds Journalism Institute (http://www.rjionline.org/people/david-herzog).

Jamie runs the software development shop Blueroot Studios (http://www.blueroot.com/) and founded the online booking service Book'd (http://www.bookd.com/). (and is a Mizzou alum!)
