NOTE: This is an online event for the second part of the HackTheBase IoT Garage that we organize on Saturday of 21st September in our Vancouver office.
The HackTheBase IoT Garage is a regular event for the Internet of Things and Open Hardware developers. Take your project and present and discuss it with the members that can give you valuable feedback. You can play with the various microcontrollers and sensors from our IoT Hub Lab and work on prototyping and inventing of the next big thing.
Let’s build a system to collect data from sensors and to control devices by MQTT. We will make a node with DHT/BME280 sensor wirelessly connected to the MQTT broker. To see graphs in Grafana, we will build a Node.js application reading data from MQTT and storing them in the time series database InfluxDB. To control a device, we will create a Node.js app with REST API.
We will do a webinar for the part how to build an IoT monitoring and automatization with MQTT, Node.js, InfluxDB, and Grafana. It starts at 1:00 PM PST.
We will use Docker to run the Node.js application for forwarding data from MQTT to InfluxDB. As Docker instances, we will run the MQTT broker (Mosquitto), InfluxDB and Grafana so you will be able to run the entire environment on your machine.
The number of seats in the office is limited, but the webinar will be available online for everyone who will register to the event. Please during RSVP answer the question, if you want to attend the event onsite or online. If you register for the online event, we will send you a link to the Webex.
