HackTheBase IoT Garage (Webinar)

Details
NOTE: This is an online event for the second part of the HackTheBase IoT Garage that we organize this Saturday in our Vancouver office.
The HackTheBase IoT Garage is a regular event for the Internet of Things and Open Hardware developers. Take your project and present and discuss it with the members that can give you valuable feedback. You can play with the various microcontrollers and sensors from our IoT Hub Lab and work on prototyping and inventing of the next big thing.
Let’s build a system to monitor the environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity in a room. We will build a LoRa sensor node with DHT/BME280 sensor connected to The Things Network. To see graphs in Grafana, we will build a Node.js application reading data from MQTT and storing them in the time series database InfluxDB.
This time we will do a webinar for the part how to build an environmental monitoring with the The Things Network, Node.js, InfluxDB, and Grafana. It starts at 1:00 PM PST.
We will use Docker to run the Node.js application for forwarding data from The Things Network to InfluxDB. As Docker instances, we will run the InfluxDB and Grafana so you will be able to run the entire environment on your machine.
The number of seats in the Vancouver office is limited, but the webinar will be available online for everyone who will register to the event. If you will register for the online event, we will send you a link to the Webex.

Prerequisites
- You will need to have installed on your machine Docker and Docker Compose. How to install it on various platforms you can find at https://docs.docker.com/install
- When? What? Where?
Come to our office on Saturday 7th September 2019 and let’s build a system to monitor the inside temperature and humidity.
Agenda
- 10:00 - Registration
- 10:15 - Build LoRa sensor node measuring temperature and humidity
- 13:00 - Environment monitoring with The Things Network, InfluxDB, and Grafana
- 15:00 - Show your IoT project
- 16:30 - Finish
Where
- UCW Labs Ltd.
- 250 - 997 Seymour Sr., Vancouver, BC V6B 3M
- IoT Hub Lab
Creative space dedicated to prototyping, using all sorts of microcontrollers (Adafruit Feather, Particle Boron, ESP8266, ESP32 and more) with various types of connectivity (WiFi, LoRaWAN, GSM, LTE-M), and tools such as a screwdriver, voltmeter and more.
