Hailsham Queers - LGBT+ (Trans-Inclusive) Social Club

Sussex’s longest running mineral and fossil show. With over 30 years of history, the event is a highlight for collectors, enthusiasts, and curious newcomers alike. The event promises a captivating day out, with over 40 exhibitors offering a dazzling selection of crystals, minerals, fossils, and gems. Visitors can explore impressive displays, learn more about these natural wonders, and even purchase unique pieces to take home. The show will feature talks and displays on various topics, making it not just a marketplace but an educational experience. There will also be hands-on activities for children, including a treasure hunt, a tombola, and a UV mineral darkroom—offering a truly magical experience for the whole family.

The Grand Winter Makers Fair & Guided Steam Up Tours are back this November! One not to miss – a huge variety of over 130 exhibitors across the weekend of high quality, fully curated makers, artists & foodies will await you in the stunning Victorian industrial architectural venue. Spread across the former Coal Shed & mezzanine gallery floor AND the outside grounds with a further large marquee full of more stalls, pop up street food & a bar.

Alongside the Makers Fair, the Engineerium will be running their new Steam Up Tours of the museum! No on-site parking available for visitors due to event using available outside areas too. Plenty of unrestricted parking in neighbouring area. 1 – 3 minute walk from Hove Park/Waitrose Hove/Corals Stadium.

Entrance to the Makers Fair is FREE, but they are offering optional limited PRIORITY entrance tickets (£1.50 plus b/f – accompanying under 16s free) to The Coal Shed Exhibition Hall, which will give you queue jump entrance in the event of any queues that may form.

From 2pm onwards, Vicarage Field and the High Street will be transformed into a festive marketplace filled with seasonal craft stalls, artisan gifts, handmade decorations and plenty of delicious food and drink to enjoy. The highlight of the day, the Christmas Lights Switch-On, will take place at 6pm, officially marking the start of the festive season in Hailsham. Once the lights are switched on, everyone is invited to Hailsham Parish Church, which will be offering free hot chocolate and marshmallows – the perfect way to warm up and continue the celebrations in a festive and welcoming setting.

Eastbourne Open Houses and Studios have been running successfully for many years. Formerly attached to the Eastbourne Festival, it is now an individual entity, bringing the community together through creativity. Eastbourne has a large and eclectic number of artists and makers and the Open Houses is a wonderful way to meet them, see their work and support their practice. For artists this is a lovely, informal, yet valuable way to connect with their audience and show the rest of the community what they do.

We will be visiting some members' houses, maybe a couple of the collectives, and stopping for coffee and cake when we need a sit down!
