jQuery London (July Meetup)

jQuery London (July Meetup)

Details

Hi guys, Sorry for the late/short notice again.

We're having our second jQuery London meetup on July 4th at the same place: Scott Room, The Guardian (Kings Place)

The schedule for this meetup is as follows:

6pm: Meet & Greet.

6:15pm: Ross Bruniges

Intro to talk: jQuery has been Ross' JS library of choice for years now and in that time it's been used to make dynamic interfaces for banks, radio stations, magazines and now at Mozilla. In that time he has seen great usage of it and some not so great. He is hoping to condense his years experience into about 40 minutes and provide a large number of practical tips you can use straight away and get you thinking on how you use it on your projects.

6:55pm: short 5 minute break

7pm: Addy Osmani

Intro to talk: Performance optimization is a crucial aspect of building ‘snappy’ client-side applications and something which all developers using jQuery should bear in mind. In this talk, we're going to take a look at some of the best practices, tips and tricks for improving the performance of your jQuery code in 2011 with some quick wins and a few new surprises along the way.

7:30ish: Finish & maybe head off to nearby pub?

P.S. Beer will be provided in courtesy of The Guardian. The attendee limit is 100.
